It has been said that just about the only professional player who did NOT play the Martin Committee was Clifford Brown, who played a Blessing Super Artist. Chet Baker, Maynard Ferguson, Roy Eldridge, Lee Morgan, Dizzy Gillespie, Conte Candoli, and an international host of other trumpet professionals played the Martin Committee. The horn was made famous by Miles Davis, who played Martin Committees until they were no longer manufactured, and contracted with Martin to continue to build the Committee model just for him. When the Martin Committee first entered the jazz scene in the early 1940's, almost every professional trumpeter that you can name played the famous Martin Committee. That same year, the Martin Band Instrument Company built this design and named it the "Martin Committee" after the name of the committee that designed this fine instrument.
